Growth Dialogues S3 | Episode 04: ICF Credentialing Changes Decoded

ICF is making some important changes to its credentialing process, and understanding what those changes mean is going to matter for coaches at different stages of their journey. In the latest episode of Growth Dialogues, our Co-Founder Ram Gopalan, sits down with Jaya Bhateja, Master Certified Coach and Founder of Abhyudaya Global Coach Academy, to unpack what’s changing and why. Starting April 1, 2027, coaches will no longer submit a final recording for assessment. Instead, formative assessments will happen throughout their training, with mentors taking a much more active role in a coach’s development and credential readiness. Jaya walks through what this means in practice, including the new mentor credential, the additional responsibility this places on mentors and coach training schools, and what happens to the role of trainers, mentors, and assessors. Together, we explore: → Why ICF is moving away from the final recording submission → How formative assessment changes the credentialing journey → How the role of a mentor coach is evolving → What the new mentor credential requires → Why a coach’s trainer can no longer also be their mentor → What the changes mean for coach training schools → Where synchronous and recorded learning fit into ICF-accredited programs → How new credentials could create opportunities for mentors, coach educators, and supervisors Whether you are working toward your first ICF credential, already mentoring coaches, or running a coach training program, this conversation offers a practical look at what’s changing and what you may want to start thinking about now. 🎙️ Growth Dialogues S3 | Episode 04 Featuring Jaya Bhateja Founder, Abhyudaya Global Coach Academy | ICF Master Certified Coach Watch the full conversation, if you prefer to listen, the full episode is also available on Spotify. . . .
