Farm To Table Fresh Garden Harvest & Building Our New Rack ❤️

Welcome back to another beautiful day at our African Family Homestead! ❤️ Today, we are continuing work on our new utensil drying rack while preparing a delicious farm to table meal using fresh matooke from our banana plantation and groundnuts. Our morning begins with Taata Musa preparing the second treatment for our maize plants. Meanwhile, Mama Jane joins Amon as he continues constructing our new utensil drying rack, which will give us a proper place to keep our dishes after washing them. Once the treatment is ready, Taata Musa heads to the maize garden to care for the growing plants. Later, Mama Jane and Ismail walk to our banana plantation to harvest fresh matooke for today's meal. After returning home, Mama Jane begins peeling the matooke while Amon continues working on the rack, carefully fitting the wooden pieces into place. With the matooke ready, Mama Jane starts cooking our traditional village meal. Andrew also lends a helping hand by pounding groundnuts using a mortar and pestle. The groundnuts are then added to the matooke to prepare a delicious homemade meal. As our new utensil drying rack slowly takes shape, the wonderful smell of freshly cooked matooke fills our homestead. Finally, Mama Jane serves the food, and the family sits together to enjoy another homemade meal. ❤️ Thank you for spending another day with our family.
