Venom- Eagles Ballroom, Milwaulee Wi 7/27/96 Video master-DVD 2 camera R.I.P. Cronos Black Metal

R.I.P. Conrad Lant, better known as Cronos. Scheduled video programming is pushed to tomorrow. Man, I cannot believe I am writing this. The official Venom facebook page has announced Cronos' passing. I had not even heard that he was ill or anything. I was hoping to catch them at a fest sometime in the near future. Venom (along with Slayer) was the gateway to punk rock for me. I bought the Welcome to hell LP back in 1982/83 time frame and was... confused. The band sounded like they were each playing a different song on the first track, but holy shit was it heavy. It didn't help that Neat records' original pressing of the album skipped into the first track. I didn't hear the real start of the song for years! They really grew on me and the Black Metal album is an all-time classic. I only got to see them once- at the Crest Theater in 1985, but I was excited to be backstage and partying with Slayer and Exodus that I only watched a couple songs. Years later, I received a Venom interview on Sky tv in a videotape trade and it was hilarious! These guys aren't serious, they were a bunch of goofs! That made me love the band even more. It seems that this video is not on youtube. It is from the year before the well-circulated 1997 set, and this one is a 2 camera shot. I suspected that someone just mislabeled the date, but no. It is really a different show. Recorded by: ? DVD rip and prep for upload by Shayne
