This project showcases a collection of hardware-native MIDI files for the entire Touhou 6: The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil (東方紅魔郷) soundtrack, created for study purposes in partnership with the Touhou Sound Sources Sheet. The sequences are engineered by ear, using the SD-90's 32-part multi-timbral structure (in this case, just 16 channels were used), 128-voice polyphony, and onboard multi-effects. The arrangements replicate ZUN's initial Windows-era arrangement style. Made using FL Studio for primary sequencing and Sekaiju for low-level SysEx injection, this project looks to make the .WAV versions of the OST more accessible for those with the right tools. The audio in the video was recorded with the following settings: Hardware: Physical Edirol / Roland SD-90 Studio Canvas (Native USB audio mode) Master Tuning: Varied per track to match the original game recordings (ranging from 428Hz to 452Hz) Signal Processing: 44.1kHz 16-bit AD/DA conversion via the hardware engine, MFX and AFX routing included Audio Mastering: Compiled and mastered using Sonic Foundry Sound Forge 6.0 (What was used in the actual game) All compositional rights go to Team Shanghai Alice.
