The protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar continued on October 13, with videos showing CJP co-convenors Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das, along with their supporters, climbing over the gates at Jantar Mantar while raising slogans and holding the national flag. Several participants were detained by police. CJP founder Abhijit Dipke later alleged that the ruling side was trying to create a rift between the organisation and the INDIA alliance. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has stayed the proceedings in a defamation case against Rahul Gandhi over his 2018 remarks during the Rafale controversy, including the slogans “Chowkidar Chor Hai” and “Choron Ka Sardar.” A bench of Justices Vikram Nath and Apresh Kumar Singh issued notice on Gandhi’s plea. The case was filed by BJP office-bearer Mahesh Shreemal. Separately, Delhi Police has registered two FIRs over the October 12 march, including allegations of an unauthorised protest and damage to barricades. One FIR names Rahul Gandhi, while four additional FIRs concern allegedly misleading social media posts about the protests. Produced by: Murari & Shubham Edited by: Alok Sahu
