Thailand flooding September 2026 update: Nan hit twice in a month, Bangkok underwater, Chiang Mai waterfalls closed, and the forecast for next week. Bangkok streets flooded this morning after heavy overnight rain, and up north the province of Nan is dealing with its second major flood in barely a month. In this update I break down what is driving all this rain, where the damage is worst, and what the Thailand weather forecast looks like for the coming week. The TMD (Thai Meteorological Department) issued warning 222/2569 for heavy to very heavy rain across almost the whole country through September 27. I cover the August 18 to 22 Nan flood and Pua district disaster, where over 254 mm of rain fell in about a day, 3 people died, and more than 30,000 were affected, plus this week's Mae Sa flash floods in Chiang Mai, three closed waterfalls, and the September 25 Bangkok flooding.
