Villa Elu by Instinto Estudio

Villa Elu by Instinto Estudio Villa Elu, designed by Instinto Estudio, is a contemporary residence that embraces a calm and immersive relationship with its natural surroundings. Conceived as a retreat defined by openness and material warmth, the project balances architectural restraint with a strong sensory connection to landscape, light, and climate. The house reflects a growing shift toward residential design that prioritizes atmosphere and wellbeing over visual excess. The architecture is composed of clean horizontal volumes that unfold gradually across the site, creating a sequence of interconnected indoor and outdoor spaces. Large sliding openings dissolve the boundary between interior and exterior, allowing terraces, gardens, and living areas to function as a continuous environment. This fluid spatial arrangement enhances natural ventilation and establishes a lifestyle closely tied to the surrounding landscape. Materiality plays a defining role in shaping the identity of Villa Elu. Natural stone, warm timber, and textured plaster surfaces create a restrained palette that feels both refined and grounded. Rather than competing for attention, these materials work quietly together, allowing changing light conditions to animate the architecture throughout the day. Inside, the interiors maintain a minimalist sensibility, where proportion, texture, and natural light become the primary design elements. Through Villa Elu, Instinto Estudio demonstrates how contemporary residential architecture can create a sense of tranquility through simplicity and spatial clarity. The project moves beyond purely aesthetic concerns to craft an environment that feels restorative and deeply connected to its context. The result is a home that embodies a refined balance between modern design, material honesty, and the experience of living close to nature. ––– We partner with Aira, a heat pump and solar energy company dedicated to reducing home energy dependence on fossil fuels and promoting low-carbon homes.
