It’s Okay to Let Go for a Minute

I built Rain Habitat around long, sustained sci-fi pads, a deep warm bass, and small raindrop-like sounds that occasionally hit a rain drum. The details feel strange and futuristic to me, but the bass gives the whole thing a warm place to settle into. This is a generative patch made in Bitwig Studio's Poly Grid. Random triggers and modulation keep the little events moving, while filters, chorus, modulated delays, and long chains of all-pass delays stretch everything into a wide, slow space. The drops come and go around the sustained layers. The recording runs for just over three hours. Leave it on for sleep, rest, or to get lost in the details.
