Adam Campbell ▶︎WebPage : https://quatuoravena.com ▶︎Contact : quatuoravena@gmail.com Originally composed for alto saxophone and piano in 1993, Piet Swerts recently decided to arrange Klonos for saxophone quartet - a version which has remained relatively unknown. The greek term 'Klonos' refers to a muscle contraction or spasm - an image that Swerts associated with many saxophone players. The idea of an uncontrollable movement or even of schizophrenic tenancies served as a central focus point in the composition of Klonos. These ideas were transformed into a piece of music filled to the brim with virtuosity and a barrage of notes which often never seem to end. Video by: Luc Garrouste
