The 20 Horses Behind Harry Derham's £1m Push

Harry Derham wants £1 million in prize money and 60 winners this season. These are the 20 horses he’s counting on 🐎 Ella McNeill visits Upper Farm to join OLBG-sponsored trainer Harry Derham ahead of the 2026/27 jumps season 🙌 Last season was Harry’s best to date. He had graded winners through the campaign, Le Frimeur gave him his first Grade 1 at Punchestown, and prize money was up on the year before. Harry is still candid about what he’d change. He says he leaned too heavily on the new gallop, which left the horses too forward in the autumn and not as strong in the spring, and he feels he learnt more than he achieved. This season he’s setting two targets: passing £1m in prize money and training 60 winners 🏆 Then Harry goes through the string horse by horse: 🏆 Le Frimeur: the unbeaten Grade 1 winner stays over hurdles. He’s set to start in the Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury, with the Stayers’ Hurdle the dream. ⚡ Lover Desbois: Harry rates him “probably the best bumper horse I’ve trained”. He goes novice hurdling from late November. 📈 Norn Iron: a hurdle prep, then the Paddy Power Gold Cup. Harry thinks the December Gold Cup could suit him even better. 🎯 Mossy Fen Road: scratched from the Supreme in the spring, now back in perfect order and pointed at the Greatwood if the ground is soft enough. 🔁 Klub De Reve: the Dovecote winner goes chasing, with the Wayward Lad at Kempton the pre-Christmas target. 😤 Teddy Blue: starts in the Old Roan, and Harry explains why he’ll never be convinced by his 7lb rise. 🐴 Cristal d’Estruval: straight over fences. 💪 Jasmine Bliss: more mares’ listed chases, with a Grade 2 at Doncaster over Christmas as a big objective. 🔜 Viyanni: an OLBG Racing Club horse. He’ll have a couple of runs on the Flat to sharpen his fitness, then step up in trip over hurdles. Also featured: Newbridge, Pass The Buck, Julio Coolio, Clondaw Park, Boombox, Western Monkey, Jackie Hobbs, Just Ennemi and Pure Carbon. 🐎 Get involved in racehorse ownership with the OLBG Racing Club: https://racing.olbg.com/ 📩 Sign up to the free Harry Derham Racing Newsletter for updates all season: https://www.olbg.com/community/harry-... 🔔 Subscribe to OLBG for more horse racing news from Harry Derham Racing and beyond:    / @olbguk   Chapters 00:00 - Harry’s 2025/26 season review – what he’d do differently 01:54 - The £1m prize money and 60-winner targets 03:04 - Newbridge 03:45 - Rockson Piel - “I just love everything about him” 04:50 - Pass The Buck - the Joseph O’Brien recruit 06:03 - Lover Desbois - “probably the best bumper horse I’ve trained” 07:15 - Julio Coolio - “there’s a big engine there” 08:06 - Clondaw Park 08:55 - Boombox 09:30 - Le Frimeur - why the Grade 1 winner stays hurdling 12:55 - Viyanni 14:03 - Mossy Fen Road - the Greatwood plan 15:55 - Western Monkey - rated 125 after one run 16:54 - Jackie Hobbs 17:50 - Cave Bridge 18:41 - Just Ennemi 19:50 - Klub De Reve - chasing and the Wayward Lad 21:52 - Cristal d’Estruval 22:57 - Teddy Blue - Harry vs the handicapper 24:31 - Norn Iron - Paddy Power Gold Cup or December Gold Cup? 26:27 - Jasmine Bliss 27:54 - Pure Carbon 28:56 Wrap-up #HarryDerham #NationalHunt #HorseRacing #OLBG
