The Kentucky Meat Shower of 1876 | Meat Fell From a Clear Sky — And No One Knows Why

March 3, 1876. On a small farm in Bath County, Kentucky, the sky was clear and blue — and then it started raining meat. Flakes and chunks of fresh, raw flesh fell over a strip of ground a hundred yards long, while a farmwife making soap in her yard watched in disbelief. Newspapers across America picked up the story. Scientists examined the samples under microscopes. And more than a century later, the Kentucky Meat Shower is still one of the strangest true stories ever reported. Was it star jelly? A hoax? Or the vomit of a flock of vultures, startled high above the Kentucky hills? This is the true story of the day meat fell from the sky — what the witnesses saw, what the scientists found, and the mystery that still refuses to be fully explained. 📌 In this video: March 3, 1876: meat falls from a clear sky in Bath County, Kentucky Olympian Springs: the quiet farm where it happened Mrs. Crouch and the soap kettle: the morning it began The fall: a hundred-yard strip of fresh raw meat The taste test: mutton or venison?
