What begins as a hopeful journey of courage and companionship gradually descends into desperation, as his search leads him deep into Izalith and toward a false light. His radiant theme slowly fades into tragedy, leaving behind only the memory of the knight who once praised the Sun. The moral of Solaire's story is that having a purpose can support you, but clinging to it desperately can make you accept an illusion just so you don't feel like your quest was in vain. His tragedy wasn't searching for his Sun, but needing to find it at any cost.
