Hey everyone, Captain Dave here. In this video, I’m tackling what turned out to be a major project—removing a sheared-off hydraulic ram on the ABT track stabilizer system of an 80-foot Outer Reef yacht. What started as a simple job quickly turned into a battle of grinding, hammering, and wrestling with a stuck pin. You’ll see all the gritty details, including the challenges of working in tight engine room spaces and the precautions I took to keep things safe (think fire extinguishers and lots of oil cleanup). I walk you through step-by-step as I grind out the damaged yolk, handle stubborn nylon bushings, and finally install the new cylinder. It’s not all smooth sailing—there are setbacks, close calls, and lots of oil (everywhere). But I get it done, from removing seized pins to calibrating the stabilizer. Safety, patience, and a little ingenuity are key when working in these conditions. THANK YOU FOR YOUR COMMENTS LIKES SHARES AND SUBS!
