My first experience with Maximum the Hormone was absolute controlled chaos, and somehow it all worked. "Satsui vs Satsui" throws so many different styles, tempos, vocal deliveries, and insane visual moments at you that it's almost impossible to process everything on a first watch. One second you're headbanging, the next you're laughing, and then somehow you're doing both at the same time. What impressed me most is that underneath all the madness is a band with incredible musicianship. The transitions are wild, the energy never drops, and every member feels like they're operating at 110% the entire time. It's chaotic, but it's intentional chaos. This is one of those songs that almost demands an immediate second listen because there's no way I caught everything the first time through. That's usually the sign of something special. The more I think about it, the more I appreciate just how creative and fearless this band really is. This was an unforgettable first experience with Maximum the Hormone, and I have a feeling this is only the beginning.
