I built Lucy a new dog crate hang out! I was tired of her ugly metal crate in the middle of our living room, so I built her this adorable sliding door modern slatted dog crate to hang out in instead. Made from simple 2x2s and a half sheet of plywood, this dog crate is easy and inexpensive to build and the sliding door panel is a fun unexpected element. The plans are easy to modify to fit whatever size dog you have. The slats give it a modern feel and the door encloses the crate to make Lucy feel safer and more secure in her little hang out spot. This crate doubles as a functional piece of dog crate furniture with it's top surface large enough to set some decor or a nice serving tray.
