ZAS 2026 | POWERING GROWTH | PROTECTING LIVESTOCK & FARMERS With drought preparedness taking centre stage, Zimbabwe’s Livestock Drought Mitigation Strategy is strengthening Early Warning–Early Action measures to protect livestock, livelihoods and farmer incomes. The strategy includes improved access to water, feed and fodder, animal health and vaccination, as well as Water Drought Mitigation Centres that will support livestock production, pasture development and structured access to markets—helping reduce dependence on middlemen, curb unfair trading practices and protect farmers from distress sales and uneconomic prices.
