This door needed much more than just a makover... | Restoring a 120 year old front door

After stripping away 120 years of paint, the true condition of this door finally became clear. And, as one might have expected, it was far worse than it initially appeared In this part of the resoration, I tackle the most stubborn remnants of paint, remove old caulking, deal with some serious rot, make structural improvements, and figure out a way to make the door fit an old doorway it never belonged to. This time, I'm trying out a longer and more detailed format, and I'd love to hear what you think of it! The video is almost entirely made up of 'shop sound', with just a little music added where the timelapse footage had no sound. Processing and uploading a 32-minute film really pushed my 'setup' to its limits. Apparently, filming and editing a video of this length entirely on an iphone was a bit too ambitious... But, as with any restoration project, patience and persistence helped me overcome the obstacles along the way. I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I did making it!
