Series - "Stages of a Grammar Lesson" is for English teachers looking to improve their teaching. This is part 3 of 7 in the series "Stages of a Grammar Lesson". Each video describes a stage, highlights the importance and aim of each of these and how they should be presented to students. In this PART 3, I show how we can use guided discovery for clarifying grammar. Guided discovery is an inductive technique for clarifying language in which students are led towards discovering the form and meaning of grammar by themselves. The teacher's role here is to facilitate this process. The benefits of this technique are: Students are involved in discovering the meaning and form of the grammar. They do this in their own time, so they have time to digest the new information. Learners can compare and discuss their answers with their peers. The stages of this techniques are: Students read or listen to a text for general information. Learners answers questions about the meaning and form of the grammar in sentences from the text. The teacher clarifies any questions students may still have about the grammar. The teacher clarifies the pronunciation. Bjarne Vonsild, CELTA and DELTA Tutor.
