I have long waited to begin the roof on the Liberty. Scheduling and weather has made it difficult. Today changes that. I do plan on coating the roof with a spray on Lifetime warranty roof. But I also want to make this bus nearly off-grid capable with a large 3300 watt solar array, and to do that, I also need to remove everything on the roof. The coating will likely stablize the metal roof but, I want to make sure I give the roof a fighting chance. So I have long suspected that the loose metal on the roofs can be secured using expanding foam, and what better opportunity to see if it works. I also decided that the air horns would limit solar production but were also an eyesore due to age, so I removed those and did a fast and rough fiberglass repair on the front cap and also got rid of so many possible water leaks on the roof.
