The Most Terrifying Crash I’ve Survived in the High Country

A routine high-country singletrack ride took a violent turn when an embedded rock kicked out sideways, blew me off the trail, and sent me straight into a tight gauntlet of timber. Between dodging a bike-eating boulder and getting a little too close of a hug from the local pine trees, this was easily one of the wildest close calls of the season.
