India Today Conclave 2026 South: OBC Reservation Debate: Should Population Dictate Social Justice?

At India Today Conclave South 2026, Karnataka Labour Minister Santosh S. Lad and BJP MLA and Deputy Leader of Opposition Arvind Bellad debated whether population size should determine India’s social-justice architecture. The discussion focused on OBC reservation, political representation, caste census data, merit, reservation limits and the need for empirical data. Lad argued that OBC communities need greater representation in legislatures, while Bellad said reservation policy should be revisited using comprehensive data and other factors beyond population alone. #CountedByCaste #OBCReservation #IndiaTodayConclaveSouth #itwebvideos #CasteCensus #SocialJustice #OBC #Reservation #SantoshLad #ArvindBellad #SurgingSouth #IndiaToday Subscribe to India Today for NEW VIDEOS EVERY DAY and make sure to enable Push Notifications so you'll never miss a new video.
