Hello and welcome to my second guide for the Jak & Daxter HD Collection for the PlayStation 3! If you're continuing on from my Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy guide, then welcome back! If you're just joining us, then I hope you enjoy what you see! I can not guarantee that I'll get every last bit of content out this game (since there are a number of things that are completely optional), but I'll try my best. At the least, I'll cover every last story-related and optional mission, and I'll try to collect all those damn hidden and challenge-related Precursor Orbs in due time as well. This part only consists of some introductory cutscenes, so feel free to skip them if you're familiar with the game, or stay and watch if you're new or just want to see how the graphics have been updated. I'll provide more extensive textual commentary and explanations when we start getting into the meat of the game. In case the loading screen at the beginning looks unusual, that's because I sped that part up when editing. Normally I don't get too picky when loading screens are short, but there's no sense in you looking at that plain old loading screen for the full time it actually lasted when it's completely unnecessary for this video. Once again, we open with a somewhat grandiose voiceover by Samos. It's not quite as humorous or likeable as the first game's, in my opinion, but I still consider it a nice reference back to the initial installment. Considering how much has changed, it's nifty to see some nods to the past. (In particular, I'm quite glad Samos' bird made a minor but notable return. It's a tiny detail in the grand scheme of things, but was always one of my favorite parts of Samos' character.) Does the Baron's voice remind you of anything? It should if you're familiar with some of Naughty Dog's other games. Clancy Brown, the voiceover artist for Baron Praxis, also did the voices of Dr. Cortex and Uka Uka starting from Crash Bandicoot 2 and up to Crash Nitro Kart (which itself wasn't made by Naughty Dog, but my point was that Mr. Brown has been around for a while in that series). Besides that, you may also know him as Mr. Krabs from Spongebob, Sergeant Charlie Zim from Starship Troopers, the Farting Dragon from Samurai Jack, Alderman Hughes in Saints Row, Hades from God of War III, or from one of his many other roles throughout his career. Personally, I think he sounds most like Uka Uka in this game, but maybe you'll think he sounds more like one of his other characters (especially the evil, villainous, and/or powerful ones).
