LPS Staff Recognition: Sarah Staples Farmer, Key Club International Key of Honor

Sarah Staples-Farmer, Lincoln East High School English teacher and Key Club advisor, was honored by Key Club International with the Key of Honor award. The award recognizes individuals who have made a significant impact on youth through service and leadership. Key Club is a student-led service organization that encourages leadership, character development, and community involvement through volunteer service. Sarah Staples-Farmer has taught English at East High School since 2013. During her time at East High School, she has also served as the Key Club advisor since 2014. During her time as advisor, Key Club membership has grown from 11 charter members to more than 80 students. Last school year, the East Key Club completed approximately 37 service projects in the community. The students who nominated Sarah said: “Sarah’s a mentor and teacher I trust wholeheartedly. She instills an attitude to keep dreaming and that anything is possible. She’s helped me through my mistakes and taught me how to learn from them. All in all, she’s an amazing teacher who truly cares about each and every one of her students.” “She has really been our club’s support system. Sarah gives us advice whenever we need it, defends us whenever problems arise during volunteering, and her love for service truly spreads to everyone who attends our meetings.” Because we are a K-12 public school, we have marked our videos safe for children.
