Puripol Boonson just delivered one of the biggest performances of the 2026 Asian Games. The Thai sprinter ran an incredible 19.88 seconds in the men's 200m final in Nagoya, matching Xie Zhenye's Asian record and setting a new Thai national record and Asian Games record. What makes the performance even more impressive? Boonson ran 19.88 in wet conditions with a -0.3 m/s headwind, after a relatively moderate start. Once he came off the curve, he accelerated away from the field and finished more than half a second ahead of the competition. Just two days earlier, Boonson had already won the men's 100m in 9.90 seconds, breaking the Asian Games record. Now he has completed the sprint double with 9.90 in the 100m and 19.88 in the 200m. In this video, we break down Puripol Boonson's incredible 200m final, his progression, his 2026 Asian Games performance, and what his 19.88 means for Asian sprinting. Watch until the end to see just how fast Boonson has improved. #PuripolBoonson #AsianGames2026 #200m #Athletics #TrackAndField #Sprinting #Thailand #AsianSprinting #200mFinal #TrackAndFieldNews
