This was a webinar for the Edumen students, led by Augustin Nkamba Kabeya, CEO of Ediman (an English learning platform). The meeting featured several speakers sharing their experiences with learning English: Key Platform Updates: Augustin introduced new AI features including a Live AI Coach (Maya and Miles) that students can practice with anytime Added an AI section with Ediman GPT, dictionary, grammar and vocabulary tools organized by field (finance, HR, etc.) Launched a library with books on topics like public speaking Guest Speakers: Moustapha Diao (West African Development Bank representative in Niger) spoke about learning English with a busy schedule. His strategy: organize your schedule in advance, stay disciplined, make sacrifices, and stay focused on important tasks. TUTUYA shared how he practices English beyond training. He emphasized reading out loud daily, participating in coaching sessions, practicing with English speakers, listening carefully to coaches, and keeping notebooks with vocabulary. He stressed that the goal isn't to sound like a native speaker but to respect grammar and vocabulary while being understood. Aissatou Thiam (HR manager) discussed the impact of English on business. She shared personal stories about losing opportunities due to language barriers and how improving her English changed her career. She advised: practice daily (even 10-15 minutes), focus on speaking, and accept mistakes as part of growth. Max (closing speaker) shared his English journey, emphasizing that English breaks barriers globally, builds confidence, and opens opportunities. He encouraged consistent practice and using resources like YouTube podcasts. The webinar concluded with an invitation to their graduation event on May 30th.
