Gibson VHS 22 - PART ONE - 26560 : Picking Party & George Gibson Performance

This portion of Gibson VHS 22 documents a picking party on George Gibson’s property in Knott County, Kentucky. Among a large number of unidentified musicians at the gathering, the group includes the fiddlers Jesse Wells and John Harrod. The footage from the gathering primarily documents two old-time sessions. The repertoire played in both sessions is fairly typical of an old-time session, with a slight preference for fiddle tunes and songs with origins in Kentucky.
