THOR, GUARD MY HOME | Powerful Norse Viking Folk Song

THOR, GUARD MY HOME — a powerful Norse Viking folk song calling upon Thor, the God of Thunder, to protect home, family and the people we love. The storm is coming. The children sleep inside. The fire still burns. The door is barred. And beneath the thunder, an old name is spoken... Þórr. THOR! GUARD MY HOME! STAND WHERE I CANNOT STAND! THOR! GUARD MY OWN! KEEP YOUR HAMMER OVER THIS LAND! LET THE THUNDER SHAKE THE STONE! BUT KEEP MY CHILDREN SAFE AT HOME! This is not a song about seeking battle. It is about having something worth protecting. A home. A family. A fire in the darkness. The people waiting behind your door. In Norse mythology, Thor was more than a warrior wielding Mjölnir. He was associated with thunder and strength, and became one of the most widely revered gods of the Norse world. Here, we imagine a mother beneath a gathering storm calling upon the god her father taught her to trust: Protect this house. Protect these children. Stand where I cannot stand. ⚔ THE CROSS CAME NORTH — CHAPTER II The old faith still lives. The names of the gods pass from parent to child. Thor still speaks through thunder. Odin still watches from above. Soon, strangers will come North carrying a cross. But not yet. Tonight there is only the storm... and a mother calling Thor's name.
