Richard Strauss Till Eulenspiegels lustig Streiche Op.28 (Till Eulenspiegel's Merry Pranks) Richard Srrauss, conductor Berlin Staatskapelle Orchestra Recorded in 1929 in Berlin Strauss was 30 years old when he composed "Till Eulenspiegel" in 1895. The piece has become one of his best known works. The present recording is from 1929, and was made on four sides by Polydor. The quality is excellent for that time. It is hard to say whether the tempo is due to accommodating four sides or Strauss simply wanted it that fast.
