Safe Haven

At the 2015 Celebration of Spring Ball, to music of the Flying Romanos, we danced Orly Krasner's dance Safe Haven, written in the traumatic days following 9/11. Set to a tune by Orly (and arranged here by Marnen E. Laibow-Koser), it's a longways duple improper formation in which, as she writes in her book Celebrations, "virtually all the figures are supported." It is "intended," she continues, "as a celebration of our solidarity." Just the dance for these difficult days! --Paul Ross
