Mt. Bukkasan Activation (JA/KN-017)

I parked my car on the northern out skirt of the mountain and hiked to Mt. Bukkasan today. This Mountain is a notorious leech mountain in summer, but I luckily didn't see any. I tried to use a loading coil to extend effective element length in 7MHz band for the first time and hoped to get contact with W stations. Even though no DX contact was made but I got many calls from domestic stations on the band. The cooking time for pork rice was a little too long, and the bottom part was scorched. I should have considered ambient temperature rise these days. Since I hiked early morning, I virtually occupied the summit alone, fully enjoyed ham radio, cooking and the early summer atmosphere.
