USA (outside show) 7-18-82 promoting their 10th (studio) album "Weather Report" Josef Zawinul: keyboards Wayne Shorter: sax Victor Bailey: bass Omar Hakim: drums and percussion José Rossy: percussion lineage: Audience recording by the son of Archie Shepp! Original notes: "oddly enough, Weather Report is one of a very few bands with 2 albums of the same name that have no connection to each other. the 1st one is the band's self titled initial release from 1971, with an entirely different group other than Shorter and Zawinul. the second one is promoted here, released in 1982, actually the last WR album with Peter Erskine and Jaco Pastorius, but both were gone by the time this show happened, replaced by Victor Bailey and Omar Hakim. a fine performance, this is apparently withing a few seconds of all of it and it is fairly close up, an enjoyable recording, everyone comes through clearly. there is some talk in the crowd, but not too much." Special thanks to Pavel Shepp, pbuzby and the infallible glasnostrd19. Footage and production by bigfootpegrande.
