August 2017年 東京都江東区にある富岡八幡宮の例祭、別名「深川八幡祭り」は、赤坂にある日枝神社の「山王祭」、神田明神の「神田祭」とともに「江戸三大祭」の一つ。三年に一度行われる本祭りでは、大小あわせて120数基の町神輿が町内を練り歩く。そのうち大神輿53基が勢ぞろいする連合渡御（れんごうとぎょ）は圧巻。「わっしょい」の掛け声と共に沿道からバケツや消防団の放水で神輿に水をかけ担ぎ手へのお浄めとして水をかける「水かけ祭り」としても知られている。 Water Throwing Festival In Tokyo The Fukagawa Hachiman Festival is one of three major festival of Edo. The Festival is held annually in mid-August by the Tomioka Hachiman Shrine in Koto, Tokyo. Another characteristic of the Fukagawa Hachiman Festival is that spectators throw water at the mikoshi carriers, giving the festival the nickname, “Water Throwing Festival”. The shower, with a bucket and discharging water from a fire hydrant got them drenched. The festival is held every year. but the big, main festival is only every three years. This energetic festival embodies summer in Japan.
