Pilot Debate - North Up or Track Up

If you started flying before there was an MFD or Moving Map Display, you probably are a "NORTH UP" pilot. That's because you were taught to hold a road map or sectional chart in your lap with North at the top of the map. All the words and letters were right side up. And then TAA and Glass Panels came along and people started shifting to Track Up. Left is left and right is right was the reason. While that's reasonable for understanding whether traffic and points of interest is to your left and right, it may not make so much sense for where items are from a cardinal direction perspective. It's a healthy debate that has no ultimate winner, just like high wing vs. low wing or ROP vs. LOP, etc. As always.... it depends. So let's go flying and have that healthy discussion.
