A Lobster Down Under: Bob’s World our 2025

Frances Mitchell will give us a presentation that carries the alternative title "Carry On Up the Colonies". Bob the Lobster, a life-size plastic crustacean, was originally a raffle prize from the New Sheridan Club's Surrealism party, but he was been in attendance at most Club meetings and parties ever since. “Earlier this year what was going to be a trip to see Stuart's sister in New Zealand turned into a round the world trip on which we were accompanied by Bob, who is a fully-fledged, tie wearing, member of the NSC,” Frances explains. “On our return Bob was asked to do a talk about the trip. The talk is not just a boring list of our holiday snaps but rather a fun review of places that we we felt we could take a large plastic lobster without offending anyone, getting arrested or causing an international incident!”
