Hike the Sawtooth Wilderness Loop with my guide: https://kraigadams.com/guides/sawtoot...
$19: all three days with my GPX files, maps, my times at every lake and pass, a slower 5 to 6 day plan, the wilderness permit and rules, the 2026 Grandjean closure and the ways in from Stanley, and a trip sheet.
In July 2020 I hiked a 70 mile loop alone through the Sawtooth Wilderness in Idaho in three days: from the Grandjean Trailhead up Trail Creek to Sawtooth Lake, down the North Fork of Baron Creek and up to Baron Lake, over the Baron Divide and the Cramer Divide past the Cramer Lakes, through the Ten Lake Basin and back down the South Fork of the Payette River. The second half of the film is a guide: the route, crowds, water crossings, mosquitoes, heat, difficulty, getting there, food and how I filmed it. Note: Grandjean has been closed since July 2026 after debris flows; check the Sawtooth National Forest alerts before you go.
