Initially as a hobby Jameel focused his efforts on developing his voice during his college days and has subsequently emerged to carry on the torch of his late father Muhammad Hosein, a respected singer in his own time. By profession Jameel was a school teacher who taught standard 5 common entrance class and retired as a principal at the TMLschool in Trinidad. He was a mentor to many young children who looked towards him for guidance and support. He was often found to be in the centre of numerous school activities and also any events held at the local mosques. To date Jameel has successfully developed a wide circle of admirers by his frequent performances, both in Trinidad and Tobago and aboard.
