SCR SYSTEM COMPLETE EXPLANATION | BS6 DIESEL ENGINE
In this video, we explain the complete Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system used in modern BS6 diesel vehicles and how it helps reduce harmful NOx emissions.
Whether you are an *automobile engineer, mechanical engineer, technician, ITI/diploma student, fleet manager, driver, or automobile enthusiast, this video will help you understand the complete SCR system from DEF/AdBlue storage to NOx conversion.
BASIC SCR WORKING
The SCR system injects Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF/AdBlue) into the exhaust stream. DEF produces ammonia, which reacts with NOx over the SCR catalyst and converts harmful NOx primarily into:
➡️ Nitrogen (N₂)
➡️ Water (H₂O)
This allows modern diesel engines to meet stringent emission standards while maintaining efficient combustion.
📌 Important components discussed:
DEF/AdBlue Tank
DEF Pump
DEF Filter
DEF Injector/Dosing Valve
NOx Sensors
Exhaust Temperature Sensors
SCR Catalyst
ECU/DCU
Wiring & Communication System
Exhaust System
🔍 This video is useful for:

Mechanical Engineers
ITI Students
Diploma Students
Automobile Technicians
Diesel Technicians
Fleet Managers
Workshop Supervisors
BS6 Vehicle Owners
Commercial Vehicle Technicians
Automobile Enthusiasts
If you work with Tata, Ashok Leyland, Mahindra, BharatBenz, Eicher, Volvo, Cummins or other BS6 diesel vehicles*, understanding SCR operation can be extremely useful for diagnosis and maintenance.
