The World Abaza Congress and the International Association "Alashara" have launched a project on the intangible heritage of the Abkhaz-Abaza people "Amazara" (means treasure, the treasury in Abkhazian - ed.). The authour of the idea is the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the WAC Mussa Ekzekov. The project is designed to show any representative of the Abaza people or other nationalities the beauty and deep meaning of traditional culture. The dance was chosen as the first heritage object of the “Amazara” project. The WAC team, together with a group of professionals, filmed the Abkhazian national dance, giving it a modern reading. To implement this idea, directors, videographers, dancers and musicians, well-known in Abkhazia, have united into one team on a voluntary basis. Several folk dance ensembles performed at once: the State Honored Folk Song and Dance Ensemble of the Republic of Abkhazia, the "Kavkaz" State Folk Dance Ensemble named after Kandid Tarba and the "Sharatyn" State Folk Dance Ensemble named after Eduard Bebia. The project of the World Abaza Congress and the international association "Alashara" on the intangible heritage of the Abaza people "Amazara" will continue with videos dedicated to folk songs, national literature and language, folk crafts and ancient traditions. The videos will be shot in Abkhazia and in Karachay-Cherkessia. | www.abaza.org
