FRIDAY ONLY No.1033 Kandy Intercity Express in Sri Lanka Railways

In this video, we see the No.1033 Colombo Fort - Kandy Intercity Express Train arriving and departing from the Ragama Junction Railway Station. This train service is unique for several reasons. This Intercity train runs on Fridays only. It is served by a Class S14 DMU having four Air-conditioned First Class (AFC) compartments, one Third Class Buffet Car (TCBU) compartment, and three Second Class (SC) compartments. The seats for 1st and 2nd classes must be reserved in advance whereas a limited number of 3rd class Intercity tickets are issued just before the departure of the train. The Colombo-direction counterpart of this train is the No.1034 Intercity which runs in Mondays only. This Kandy Intercity is also one of the very few (if not the only) Intercity Express service that do stop at the Ragama Junction Railway Station, as most Intercity trains skip the station.
