Land of Hats: a History of the Gat

A very distinctive historical hat of Joseon Korea, the Gat was a marker of status and culture for centuries, born out of neo confucian ideals. While not worn daily anymore, it still remains as a part of traditional outfits, hanboks, and has experienced something of a renaissance in popular culture thanks to the success of K Dramas.
