Fairies of Hunza | 3 Women Changing Their Community (Documentary)

Hunza, Gilgit-Baltistan: where women run their own workshops, learn music and decide their own futures 🏔️ In Hunza Valley, women are carpenters, business owners and musicians. This documentary visits a furniture workshop where every worker is a woman. Amna started woodworking more than ten years ago and faced heavy pressure from society, but she didn't quit. Today she and her colleagues run the workshop themselves. Sunila Baig also faced opposition from relatives when she began studying music. Now several girls study at the music school. Hunza is known for high literacy and education, and for a very low crime rate (about 5%). This film asks whether education and a safe community are what make women's independence possible. 🔔 Subscribe for more stories from Pakistan's north: [channel link] 📩 Story ideas or collaboration: [email] #Hunza #GilgitBaltistan #WomenEmpowerment #Documentary #PakistanWomen #Pashto #WomenCarpenters
