With a browser, you can get started with Microsoft Copilot for free, send a first prompt without an account, then sign in and go on to the Copilot sidebar in Edge. Join my community, 7-day free trial: https://iloveautomation.ai/community Start at copilot.microsoft.com, where a first prompt works without logging in. Then sign in with a personal account and a new Outlook address to keep your chat history. In Edge, add a profile with the same account and turn on "Allow Microsoft to access page content" in the Copilot sidebar settings. The video compares the Creative, Balanced and Precise conversation styles and uses Precise for a VAT question answered with source links. Prompt examples cover a translation with an added tone and a break-even explanation for a fifth grader. A Wikipedia text on artificial intelligence becomes a three-bullet summary and three FAQ questions with answers. Notebook accepts a longer text than the chat box, and a CNN article gets improvement suggestions in a three-column table that exports to Excel. A party plan for your company then grows into a three-course menu, a grouped shopping list, a vegetarian version and a Gordon Ramsay menu. Answers can be copied into Word, exported, shared as a link or read aloud, and "Use microphone" lets you ask by voice. TOP LEARNINGS 🔹 Use Precise for research with sources 🔹 Separate task and text with Shift+Enter and three single quotation marks 🔹 Keep one conversation going, and the three-course menu still takes the limited budget and the eight cooks into account Open the Copilot sidebar in Edge on a news article and ask for a three-bullet summary of the page you are reading. Chat names with a prefix such as "save" or "math" make reused prompts easier to find in the history list. At recording time, a counter also showed 5 of 30 prompts, and after 30 you move on to a new conversation.
