🔶 Still torn between two worlds, Russian and Western, vocal artist Dmitri Hvorostovsky shares his thoughts about his career, expressing extreme selfcriticism, moving from self doubt to arrogance. Discussed subjects cover Russian Revolution, fall of Iron Curtain, dangers and mental climate of Moscow and beer. 🔶 When released the documentary was seen scandalous as the artist had obviously drank too much, also the decor of his home was judged, questioning if the kitch on the walls; Gustav Klimt's prints showed undeveloped taste (not seen in this cut&edited-version) 🔶 Sound & picture-quality is not ideal but the interview still offers intimate glimpse on Hvorostovsky's life and thoughts year 1994 🔶 The world now seems to be pretty much in the state of Iron Curtain's return 🔶 Translation&edit ‪@suziesand‬ Video ratio 4:3 ♦Interview by Andrey Karaulov, 1994 Original uncut video in Russian uploaded by ‪@Borders2023‬    • 1994 Момент истины с Дмитрием Хворостовским   00:00 Worthless record! 00:56 My idols/me 01:42 Aim for perfection 02:12 Demigod-treatment? 02:42 Performing in Vienna State Opera 03:12 Placido Domingo as conductor 04:00 Booing audience 04:52 More about Domingo 06:24 Good colleagues 07:13 Singing in Russian/Western way 07:49 Russian Revolution&opera 08:45 Fall of Iron Curtain 09:54 Singers of USSR 10:54 Leninsky's personality-Eugene Onegin 12:47 Dislikeable men 13:32 Beer-issues 13:54 Competition in stage 14:55 Dangers of Moscow 16:09 Reading critics 16:45 Complex reputation 17:07 Returning to Russia? 18:41 Concert in Krasnoyarsk 21:48 What we have left
