Time to kill... whatever the hell this is.
This boss has a few phases, as you keep dismantling more of its body.
Tentacle:
It moves around slowly and swings around if you get too close. Hit the tentacle itself until it explodes.
Dragon face:
It moves around, and when it stops, it'll spit a fireball in the air that will crack a tile on the floor. If you step on the cracked area, it'll crumble and turn into a pit; falling into the pit will hurt you by 1 and send you back to the floor below. The boss can also charge downwards if you stand directly in front of it. Hit the face until its right arm explodes.
The arm will turn into a centipede. This is the hardest part of the fight: the centipede can teleport randomly, usually skittering to the corners of the room. If left alone, it can pull you towards it, which can be dangerous if the boss is moving around and throwing fireballs, or there are pits on the floor. If you hit it, it'll turn invincible for a bit, and shoot two homing projectiles on your direction. These can be either jumped over or blocked by running towards it, NOT using the shield button (risky, as they sometimes come at an angle that will hurt you).
If you keep hitting the boss' face, its left arm will explode and turn into a flying creature. This one keeps circling you and charging randomly. Nothing much to it.
You can keep hitting the boss' face to advance to the next phase, but the other parts will make things difficult. I recommend killing each part separately, then focusing on the boss. Once you hit it enough, the head will blow up and reveal the next phase.
True face:
...Not much of a phase but the final throes of this thing. It can't really do anything but move around (a bit faster), and keep throwing fireballs. It'll be invulnerable for a bit until you can hit it. Wait for it to stop moving and blast it!
My Setup
EQUIP THE CHUKLER. You don't want to get close to the boss no matter what. It'll make things much much easier.
As for armor, the Platinum Helmet is a given, then it's either a choice between having the Cape, which boosts your speed significantly but has 0 defense, or the Royal Armor for more defense - pick which you think is better, I prefer mobility. The shield doesn't really matter, as there's no reason not to use a 99 durability one. Equip the Mirror as an accessory so you can revive if you die (best to save these for the final boss just in case), then for the fairy I like to use the Attack Boost one, and only one fairy because two will tank the frame rate considerably. You can use either the Defense Boost one or the Life one too to make things easier.
Magic doesn't work on the boss at all.
