Winter Hiking and Camping in Heavy Rain - how I got a classic New Zealand location all to myself

Camping alone in a modern New Zealand hut during a heavy rain storm. This is a popular location but I got it all to myself, with not a single person for miles around. This camp highlights everything I love about camping in the rain, camping in the winter, and connecting with nature through challenging experiences and challenging conditions. In this video I enjoy having the whole Manson Nicholls Memorial Hut, in Lewis Pass, all to myself. A very unique experience,. I take you exploring around a mountain lake, build a campfire on the lake edge and relax while I take in the incredible views. I show you how you can transform an ordinary camp into an extraordinary camp by embracing the unknown and exploring beyond the obvious. The beauty of the wild spot I found leaves me questioning whether I made the right choice to stay in the hut. I enjoy the warmth of the wood stove in the hut, and a refreshing drink on the covered porch, while I listen to the sound of the rain falling on the hut roof. I enjoy pancakes in the morning before a very wet walk out, past gorgeous waterfalls, and over bridged rivers and streams. This was a lovely relaxing escape from city life, and such a lovely way to bolster my mental energy for the challenges of modern day life. I hope you enjoy coming along with me.
