Mean Well LRS-150-48 Power Supply Short Circuit Test

This video shows a short circuit survival test of three series-connected Mean Well LRS-150-48 power supplies. The ability to withstand a direct short circuit is necessary when powering the SPA5 amplifier. The test was successful, and the Mean Well power supplies recovered gracefully and continued normal operation foillowing the test. Three of the LRS-150-48 power supplies may be used to replace eight of the standard 19 volt laptop power adapters when powering the SPA5 amplifier. In addition to the three LRS-150-48 power supplies, the SPA5 system also requires one of the Mean Well LRS-35-24 power supplies (adjusted to 20 volts) to power the logic circuits, the driver amplifier, and the cooling fan of the SPA5.
