Located halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego, the city of San Clemente in South Orange County extends from scenic foothills to miles of stunning California coastline. It’s a harmonious blend of laid back beach living and historic charm and has been aptly nicknamed the “Spanish Village by the Sea.” The city was established in 1925 by Ole Hanson, a former Mayor of Seattle. Hanson envisioned a city by the sea that evoked Spanish villages along the Mediterranean and to this end San Clemente became one of the first master-planned communities in the area, with homes designed in the classic Spanish Revival style.
