How This Notorious Nigerian Kidnapper Was Caught In Ghana

It's 8:25pm on a Tuesday night in Kumasi, Ghana. Two young Canadian  women step out of an Uber. And before their feet fully hit the ground, four men who have been planning this moment for months abducted them at gunpoint! They didn’t see it t coming. Actually, nobody did! This lady… Lauren Patricia Catherine Tilley was 19, from Rothesay, New Brunswick and this lady… Bailey Jordan Chitty was 20, from Amherst, Nova Scotia. Both were students of University of New Brunswick. They were in Kumasi, Ghana, volunteering with Youth Challenge International, a Canadian non-profit organization running youth development programmes across the developing world. Kumasi is Ghana's second city — a very busy city. June 4, 2019, which was a Tuesday, Lauren, Bailey, and a third colleague wrapped up for the day and parted ways with their group at the Asokwa Four-Junction area. The two of them were heading back to their hostel at Nhyiaeso, near the Royal Golf Club.  They requested for an Uber and hopped in. The ride ends. They step out. And then a car pulls up! Just as they stepped off the Uber, a gang in the car that pulled up drove their vehicle close to them, grabbed them amid shootings, and forced them inside! Just like that, Lauren and Bailey are gone! This was engineered and the planning started months before that Tuesday night, far outside Ghana's borders. You know what? The man behind the operation was Sampson Aghalor, popular known as Romeo — a 27 years old Nigerian who is a computer engineer by training.
