Battle of Leros - 80th Anniversary

When friends and history come together the results are fascinating. Commemorative events for the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Leros. The Battle of Leros occured between the 26th September and 16th November 1943 on the tiny island of Leros in the Aegean Sea, Greece. Italians, Greeks and Commonwealth forces prepared to fend off the imminent asault of the Axis... Given the size of the island, the combatants deployed massive armies and fought tenaciously. The Battle of Leros marks the last major victory for the elite German paratroopers, the Fallschirmjäger.
