Growing up, Nat Rischin didn't believe she was athletic. She was picked last for teams, struggled with confidence and couldn't imagine ever running 200 metres... let alone a marathon. Then doctors discovered something she'd unknowingly lived with since birth: a hole in her heart. After surgery, Natalie began reconsidering how she was looking after herself. She quit smoking and gradually returned to something she'd previously been terrible at.. running. Her first 5K had taken more than an hour and left her coughing, walking and convinced she was done with the sport. But eventually, running stuck. What followed were 10Ks, half marathons, a marathon... and a very different relationship with the person Natalie once believed she was. In this conversation, we explore confidence, body image, health, the stories we tell ourselves about what we're capable of; and how running can slowly rewrite them. 🎧 Prefer to listen?
